The Happy AND the Sad.

How has everyone been doing? I must say, I've missed being away, but haven't been motivated to blog. By the time I get home from work, I've been tired and not in the mood to share my feelings with the world. Until today.

Many of you know I enjoy taking pictures. I take my camera with me almost everywhere I go, hoping to get some great shots. I don't know that much about photography, settings, effects, etc, but I love taking pictures. Well, the camera that I've had for about 2 years messed up on me. I bought it at Office Max, and purchased the Max Assurance to go along with it. By purchasing the Max Assurance it guarantees that if/when your purchases tears up, you send it back and get the FULL purchase price PLUS sales tax on an O/M giftcard. So, I sent my old camera back. I've had my eye on this camera.

The Nikon D60. It is basically a dream. I was going to have to add some of my own money along with the giftcard to make the purchase. I didn't mind though b/c I've been wanting this for a while.

I decided that tonight was the night. I was going to purchase this D60. I go to www.officemax.com to make the purchase. When I added it to my cart, a pop up window asked for my zipcode. After I put that bad-boy in there, a window popped up that said the camera was DISCONTINUED in my area!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT?!!??!!!!!
I did a couple other things to make sure. Nope. Discontinued. Why would officemax.com keep this on the site??? So, I called the customer service # b/c, well, I want this camera. I talked to someone who was kind of giving me some hope, then she said "oh, this is an online only product, i can't help you." ARRRRRGH. Seriously??? I told her that this giftcard was useless now, and I had NO use for it.
As a customer service person would, she said, "now don't say that, they never expire, and you can use it on future purchases." This does NOT solve my problem. I am 1. Camera-LESS right now 2. not planning on making any large purchases from office max except for this camera. YADA YADA YADA YADA YADA....... I sent an email to online customer service, asking for some serious assistance.

I'm crushed. Yes, I can be a little over-exaggerative at times, but I am crushed. I felt like my dream was stomped on by the jolly green giant, but he wasn't jolly.

....On to the next story.
Yesterday I was doing laundry. A normal weekend project for everyone. Right before we started a movie, I threw a load of laundry in the dryer. About 30 minutes into the movie, Mike, the "sound police", said "what is that in the dryer?????!!!!" I said, "I don't know, probably your cargo shorts." Nothing else was said about it.

Tonight I turned the dryer back on tonight with those same clothes in it. Fluff them up, get the wrinkles out, and fold them. After the dryer stopped, I opened it up, and noticed a nice minty fragrance (and it wasn't the Downey Simple Pleasures Lavender and Vanilla). I wondered for a split second what the aroma was, then thought, "well, I HAVE been missing my Burt's Bees chapstick for about a week". And, THERE it was! Yep! This is what was left. ***This was taken with the camera on my phone...since I'm CAMERA-LESS right now***

Needless to say, after a heartbreaking moment, there was a hilarious one! I'm STILL wondering what my lesson is in all of this. Especially about my DREAM camera!!!!

Any thoughts? Anyone? I'm sure the reason will come to me soon, but I'm REALLY REALLY sad right now. REALLY.
